# How to Archive or Deactivate a Support Recipient

When a support recipient no longer requires active support — whether because their care package has ended, they have moved to a different provider, or for any other reason — you can archive their record in Elate by setting their status to Inactive. This removes them from active lists and schedules without permanently deleting their information.

<Info>
  Setting a support recipient's status to **Inactive** archives their record. They will no longer appear in your active support recipient lists or in the scheduling tools, which helps keep your active caseload clear and manageable. Their historical data — including past visit records, notes, and care history — is retained and can still be accessed if needed. Archiving does not permanently delete any information.
