# Adding and Managing Support Recipients in Elate Care

> Learn how to create support recipient profiles, navigate their dashboards, update personal details, and manage allergy information in Elate.

Every person you support in Elate has their own profile that holds everything from personal details and risk levels to care plans and medication records. This guide walks you through adding a new support recipient, exploring their profile tabs, editing key information, and keeping allergy records up to date.

## Adding a New Support Recipient

  <Step title="Open the Support Recipient Dashboard">
    Navigate to the Support Recipient Dashboard from the main menu.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Click Add Support Recipient">
    Select the **Add Support Recipient** button in the top-right corner of the dashboard.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Fill in the recipient's details">
    Complete the following fields in the creation form:

    * First and last name
    * Email address
    * Date of birth
    * Home address
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save the profile">
    Click **Save** at the bottom of the page to add the new support recipient to the system.

<Tip>
  Need to add several recipients in one go? Use the **+** button after completing each record to open a new blank form without navigating away from the page. Fill in as many records as you need, then click **Save** once to upload them all. This makes bulk onboarding significantly faster than creating profiles one at a time.

## Accessing a Support Recipient's Profile

To view a recipient's full profile, go to the **Client Dashboard** and select their name. Inside the profile, a navigation bar at the top gives you access to the following tabs:

* **Dashboard** — An overview of the recipient's upcoming support activities, calendar, and recent notifications such as incident or safeguarding reports.
* **Profile** — The recipient's core personal information including address, contact details, risk level, and carer preferences.
* **Notes** — A running log of care notes associated with the recipient, including any handover notes added by team members.
* **Calendar** — A visual view of all scheduled support activities for the recipient.
* **Medication** — Details of prescribed medications, administration schedules, and e-MAR records.
* **Support Plan** — Active support tasks and packages assigned to the recipient.
* **Assessments** — Initial and ongoing assessments carried out for the recipient.

## Editing and Updating the Profile

    Click the **Profile** tab within the recipient's dashboard to view their current details.

  <Step title="Enter edit mode">
    Click the **Edit** button on the right-hand side of the profile to make changes.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Update the relevant details">
    You can update any of the following:

    * **Address and contact information** — Keep location and communication details current.
    * **Risk level** — Set to **Low**, **Medium**, or **High** based on risk assessments or clinical information. This helps carers prepare appropriately before each visit.
    * **Carer preferences** — Record any preferences the recipient has regarding who supports them.
    * **Support hours** — Enter the total number of support hours required per week.

    Click **Save** to apply and store the updated information.

## Managing Allergies

Keeping allergy information accurate is essential for safe care delivery. Elate stores allergen details directly within the recipient's profile so that carers can check them at any time.

  <Step title="Access the allergy section">
    If no allergies have been recorded yet, click **Add Allergy** in the top-right corner of the profile dashboard. If allergies already exist, click **View All** to see the current list.

  <Step title="Add or update allergy details">
    For each allergy, enter the relevant details. You can also edit or delete existing entries from the same view.

  <Step title="Save your changes">
    Save any additions or edits to ensure the profile reflects accurate allergen information.

  Always verify allergy information before a support visit, especially if a new carer is attending or medication changes have recently been made.
