# Elate Release Notes — March 2026

> March 2026 delivers smoother scheduling, improved navigation, new finance and invoice tools, expense tracking, PDF notes, and group activities.

The March 2026 release focuses on making Elate faster and more intuitive across scheduling, finance, notes, and daily carer workflows. You'll notice fewer interruptions when editing activities, a cleaner navigation structure, and a richer set of tools for managing invoices, expenses, and group sessions.

## What's New

### Smoother Scheduling Experience

Scheduling now uses **optimistic updates**, which means the page no longer jumps or reloads when you edit an activity — changes appear instantly and are confirmed in the background. You can also **rename support plans** during the review process without leaving your current workflow.

### Enhanced Navigation and UI

The navigation sidebar and menu structure have been updated to make key sections easier to find. **Incidents** and **Safeguarding** are now more prominently accessible from the main menu. The schedule view also features **frozen headers**, so the column labels stay visible as you scroll down through a long list of activities.

### Comprehensive Finance and Invoice Management

<Note>Finance management has expanded significantly. You can now add manual invoice line items, apply rate overrides during the planning stage, and use the new Mark as Paid toggle to update invoice status without leaving the finance view.</Note>

Reporting has also been improved with consistent **CSV exports** and clearer status views, so your finance records are easier to reconcile and share.

### Streamlined Expense and Mileage Tracking

Carers can now record **expenses and mileage directly from event details** — no need to navigate to a separate section. Expenses are automatically added as invoice line items, keeping your billing accurate without extra manual steps. A dedicated **Expenses tab** makes it easy to review all claims in one place, and mileage and expenses are now split into separate columns in reports for better clarity.

### Advanced Notes and Documentation

Notes have gained several powerful capabilities in this release:

* **Attach and download PDF documents** within notes, so you can keep relevant paperwork alongside the record it relates to.
* **Event timestamps** are now added to cancellation records, giving you a clear audit trail.
* **Admin controls** for deleting notes have been introduced, allowing authorised users to remove records where needed.

### Multi-Recipient Group Activities

A new **group event type** lets you assign multiple support recipients to a single activity, removing the need to create duplicate events. An **auto-checkout feature** is included for group sessions so carers can complete the workflow quickly without checking out each recipient individually.

## Bug Fixes

* **Scheduling and Event Integrity** — Resolved an issue where changing a carer for future events could inadvertently affect past records. Fixed a bug that allowed carers to check into cancelled activities.
* **User Profile and Account Reliability** — Fixed several issues in team member profiles, including incorrect permission level visibility, account creation errors, and mislabelled fields in the account information section.
* **Financial Reporting and Data Accuracy** — Fixed errors where manual invoice items did not tally correctly. Addressed issues where finance filters failed to dismiss properly after being applied.
* **App Stability and Performance** — Resolved a bug causing session timeouts after inactivity, and fixed a double-login issue experienced on macOS and iOS devices.
