Elate 2.0 is a rebuilt Elate: a new web app for the office, a new phone app for carers, and new ways to talk, plan and keep records. This page starts with the big picture, then lists what each release added, newest first.

Elate 2.0 at a glance

Elate on the web

A new web app at portal.elateuk.com for scheduling, people, operations, finance and reports.

The Elate Care app

A new app for carers to see their day, deliver visits and record care. On Google Play now.

Secure chat

End-to-end encrypted messages between colleagues, on the web and in the app.

Eli and AI

Ask Eli about your work, and dictate notes instead of typing them. Needs AI features.

Assessments

Build assessment templates, then complete and review assessments for the people you support.

Medication (eMAR)

An electronic medication record, as a module the Elate team turns on for your organisation.

Notifications

A bell in the header, plus email and phone notifications you choose for yourself.
Your organisation may use different words for some things, such as “Service users” instead of “Support recipients”. Elate shows your organisation’s words everywhere, so follow what you see.

6 October 2026

  • Quieter notifications. Every notification, the bell included, can be switched off for your organisation or just for you. Out of the box, Elate emails only about the things that matter most, such as safeguarding concerns and incidents. Most email and phone notifications wait overnight, from 19:00 to 07:00, unless your organisation changes its quiet hours.
  • Email links open the right record. A link in an Elate email now opens the record it is about, not the dashboard.
  • Update prompt in the Elate Care app. If your app is out of date, My day says so, with a Get the update button that opens the store.
  • A recovery screen instead of the app closing. If something goes wrong on a screen in the Elate Care app, you see Something went wrong and a Try again button instead of the app shutting.

5 October 2026

  • Billing page. Organisation Owners and Service Provider Admins have a Billing page in the profile menu. Until subscriptions start, it says Billing is coming soon. See Managing your subscription.
  • Clearer incident and safeguarding records. An open record has the Operations page to itself, and it says when it was reported or raised as well as when it happened.
  • Turn off your calendar feed links. From the calendar feed panel on the schedule, Turn off my feed links stops every feed link you created from updating.

2 October 2026

  • Arrival not confirmed alerts now start switched off. When an organisation turns them on, the emails arrive together in a digest rather than one per visit.

29 September 2026

  • Easier chat on a new device. When you open chat on a new device, your other devices show its request straight away, including as a phone notification, so you can let it in.
  • Colleagues’ photos in chat.

28 September 2026

  • Delete your account. Anyone can ask for their Elate account to be deleted, on the web or in the app. The owner or an admin reviews it, and care records are kept. See Deleting your account.
  • Close an account for a leaver. Owners and admins can close someone’s account from their team profile, and restore it later.
  • Dictation on Android. The Elate Care app can ask for the microphone on Android, so you can dictate notes.
  • Phone notifications on Android, including a message that shows while the app is open.

23 September 2026

  • The notification system. A bell in the header, organisation defaults in Settings > Notifications, and your own choices on your account page. See Your notifications.
  • A dashboard shaped by your role. The dashboard shows what you can act on, and All notes opens as a sheet over it.
  • Incidents get their own tab in Operations, and each incident has its own page.
  • Schedule changes. The main schedule opens on the day, and the date label opens a date picker.

21 September 2026

  • Structured addresses with suggestions as you type, for support recipients and team members.
  • Branding previews. Settings > Branding shows how your invoice, reports and emails will look before you save.
  • Reports on your letterhead. Report exports use the same letterhead as your invoices, and finance analytics moved into Reports.
  • More files open in Elate. Word documents and CSV files open in the app, as PDFs already did.
  • Assessments open on the Library.
  • New devices join chat without a recovery code. A new browser or phone gets your chats from a device you already use.
  • Team profiles show the notes a team member wrote.

19 September 2026

  • Secure chat. End-to-end encrypted messages between colleagues, one to one or in groups, with search and attachments, on the web and in the Elate Care app. See Secure chat.
  • Assessments. Build templates, start an assessment from one, fill it in, complete it and get review reminders. With AI features, Elate can draft answers from a recorded conversation. See Assessments.
  • Carer suggestions. When you assign a visit, Elate suggests carers and explains why.
  • A new visit sheet on the web, laid out like the app.
  • Travel time on the schedule sits just before the visit it leads to.
  • Profile photos in the Elate Care app.

18 September 2026

  • Live dictation, where your words appear as you speak. Needs AI features.
  • Eli asks before it acts. Changes Eli makes wait for you to confirm them. Needs AI features.
  • Document summaries. Elate can summarise an uploaded document. Needs AI features.

17 September 2026

  • The Elate Care app stays up to date while it is open, and holds records you make without signal until it can send them.
  • Travel on the week view, and the schedule remembers the view you last used.

16 September 2026

  • Finance. Billable visits, funding rates and VAT, invoices raised from them, invoice templates, funders and payments, and invoices sent by email. See Finance overview.
  • Choose a visit’s checklist when you create it. Creating a visit opens a full-page form in three steps, and group sessions are supported.
  • Safeguarding alerts. A new safeguarding concern alerts the staff who handle safeguarding, in Elate and by email.
  • Medication (eMAR). The medication chart, recording and corrections, prescribing, a dose review list, and links to what NHS.uk says about each medicine. Needs the Medication (eMAR) module.

14 September 2026

  • Medication (eMAR) module. Medication records, the MAR chart, the medication round, allergies recorded against the NHS medicines dictionary, and recording doses in the Elate Care app. Needs the Medication (eMAR) module.

12 September 2026

  • The Elate Care app. Carers see their day and week, check in and out, record tasks, notes, handovers and expenses with receipts, attach photos and files, and see the full record of the people they support. The app can be locked with your phone’s biometrics and follows a light, dark or system theme.
  • Visit details open over the schedule on the web.
  • Deleting a visit keeps it. A deleted visit moves to Settings > Schedule, where it can be restored. A visit that holds a record of care cannot be deleted.

9 September 2026

  • Travel time between visits on the day, agenda and timeline views, measured from full addresses, with office start locations for each group and a start location for each person.
  • Active group switcher in the header, to focus the directories, schedule, reports and dashboard on one group.
  • Groups move to Settings > Groups.
  • Visit chips coloured by status, with conflict and late tags and a status legend.
  • The schedule title switches between the team view and the support recipient view.
  • One-page support recipient editor, and report cards you can hide, reorder and expand.

1 September 2026

  • Eli does routine admin. With your confirmation, Eli can cancel, edit and restore visits, update profiles, and add tasks, visit notes, incidents, leave and overtime. Needs AI features.
  • Invoices show as overdue from their due date.

31 August 2026

  • AI features. Voice dictation, Eli, AI drafting and concern flags. Needs AI features. See Ask Eli.
  • A new Elate look across the web app.
  • Allergies as structured entries on a support recipient’s profile.
  • Reports grouped into sections, with preset and custom date ranges.
  • Images and PDFs open in Elate.

24 August 2026

  • A new schedule share, bank holidays shown on the schedule, and handovers carried forward to the next visit.
  • Profile photos with a circular crop.
  • A calendar on each profile, for a support recipient’s or team member’s own visits.

July 2026

  • Incidents and safeguarding, and support recipient profiles, notes and contacts, brought up to Elate 1.0’s level.
  • Resource columns on the day and agenda views.
  • New sign-in pages.
  • A tabbed visit sheet, visit notes with attachments, check-out location, and expenses approved by people whose role includes Finance.
