The Elate Care app has four tabs along the bottom of the screen. This page explains what each one shows, so you can find your next visit and the information you need before you go in. Who can do this: anyone signed in to the Elate Care app. The app shows the visits your office has assigned to you and the people they connect you with. Your organisation may use different words for some things, such as “Service users” instead of “Support recipients”. Elate shows your organisation’s words everywhere, so follow what you see.

The four tabs

At the top of every tab, the bell opens your notifications and your photo opens Your profile. See Your notifications and App settings.

My day

My day opens with the date and a greeting. Below that you see how many visits you have today, the care time they add up to, and how many are complete. The next visit you need has its own card, marked Up next. It shows the person’s name, the visit time and, when Elate can work it out, the travel time to get there. Tap Open visit to see the visit, or the directions button beside it to open a map. Once you have checked in, the card says In progress and shows how long you have been there. It gives you shortcuts to Tasks, Add note and Check out, and to Medication when your organisation records medicines in Elate. Tap Open visit details for everything else. Your other visits are listed under Your day. A visit with a handover waiting shows a Handover label. Tap any visit to open it. See Delivering a visit. Pull down on the list to check for changes. If you have no visits today, the screen says A little breathing room, with See my week and Open chat.
If a line under your day says you have unsent records, your phone is holding work until it has signal. Tap the line to see what is waiting. See Working with poor signal.

When the app needs updating

When there is a newer version of the app, My day says “An update to Elate is available” near the top, with a Get the update link that opens the app in Google Play. You can carry on working in the meantime. If the message says “Please update Elate to keep sending your records to the office”, your phone keeps everything you record but cannot send it until you update. Install the update as soon as you can.

My week

My week shows a week at a time, starting on Monday, under the heading Your week.
1

Choose the week

Use the arrows either side of the dates to move to the previous or next week. Below the dates you see the hours and number of visits for that week.
2

Choose a day

Tap a day in the strip to see that day’s visits. Each row shows the person, the times and whether the visit is Upcoming or Completed.
3

Open a visit

Tap a visit to open it.
Cancelled and missed visits still show, labelled Cancelled or Missed, so you can tell them apart from visits that are going ahead. A day with no visits says Nothing scheduled. If it says Not loaded yet, your phone has not received that week. Pull down to try again, or call the office.

People

The People tab, headed Your people, lists everyone the office has connected you with, from A to Z. Each name shows when you last saw them or when your next visit is, for example “With you now” or “Next visit”. Use the search box (Search name or address) to find someone. The office decides who appears here. If someone is missing, ring the office.

A person’s details

Tap a person to see their details. You can Call them or get Directions from the top of the page. The sections include:
  • About and their first name, with personal details and appearance
  • Notes & handovers, with notes from your visits to them over the last 30 days
  • Upcoming visits
  • Health & care guidance, with allergies, risks and care needs
  • Access & contacts, with the address, key safe, GP and contacts
  • Preferences & consent
Depending on your role and your organisation’s set-up you may also see Medication, Documents, Support planning and Incidents & safeguarding. These details are for reading. You cannot change them in the app. If something is wrong or missing, tell the office.
If a person’s page says Not shown to you, the office has not connected you with them, or the connection has ended. Call the office if you expected to see them.
